Homemaker/Housekeeping                                                                                      

Broad Statement of Responsibility
A person who provides homemaking/housekeeping and/or companionship services as directed by the Service Plan with the intention of maintaining the independence of the clients we serve. Light housekeeping services may include, but are not limited to dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, hand washing, doing dishes, cleaning counter tops, taking out the garbage, cleaning the bathroom, making the beds and laundry services. Homemaking services may include, but are not limited to preparing and planning meals, setting the table, shopping, monitoring food expirations and making grocery lists, assist with entertaining and running errands for household supplies, organize & clean closets, care of house plants, report home maintenance problems to the family, assisting with pets and assisting with holiday decorating and cleanup. 
 

Qualifications:
1. Must be at least 18 years of age.
2. Must be able to pass an annual criminal background check.
3. Must be able to pass a drug screening.
4. Follow the Agency’s dress code with regards to piercings, tattoos and hygiene.
5. At least three months previous homemaker, housekeeping and/or companionship experience.
6. Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
7. At least two acceptable job references.
8. Proof of a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance without restrictions.
9. Ability to work as a team member.
10. Willingness and ability to work variable schedules.
11. Ability to carry out the Assignment of Duties for a variety of clients and to respond to emergencies.
12. You must have a home phone, cell phone or personal pager at all times.
13. Ability to lift 30 pounds.


Duties:
1. Work with the family and client in a compassionate, understanding and professional manner.
2. Provide basic Homemaking/Housekeeping and or companionship services, which may include; meal preparation, light housekeeping,
    shopping/errands as directed in the Service Plan.

3. Communicate immediately with the Supervisory Staff on changes in the client’s medical condition, all medical emergency situations,
    and any other changes necessary to the Service Plan.
4. Report all incidents
immediately to the Supervisory Staff and complete proper documentation.
5. Complete appropriate records to include Client Documentation Sheets and Time Cards and get them to the office
no later than 5pm
    every Monday
.
6. Complete Availability Sheet every week if your availability changes.

7. Comply with ORS 410.610 in reporting suspected abuse and neglect to the MLE supervisor.
8. Communicate immediately with supervisory staff on ALL scheduling changes.
9. Complete all required training programs as set forth by the Agency.
